COVENTRY Speedway are delighted to stage Event 2 of the 2007 Speedway World Cup at Brandon (7.30pm).
Buildbase Bees skipper Scott Nicholls along with his team-mates Chris Harris and Olly Allen are in the Great Britain squad who take on Sweden, the USA and Russia - looking for the win which would give them a direct passage into next Saturday's Final in Poland.
Denmark have already qualified for the Final, whilst Thursday's Race-Off will be contested by Poland, Australia and the second and third placed teams from Monday's meeting.
Nicholls said: "Sweden still have to be the main danger. The other teams have riders who are capable of doing something, they can all have good races - but it needs the whole team to do well to win the meeting, and Sweden will push us the hardest.
"However, they are a little weakened and we really have to focus on getting the win and going straight through to the Final.
"Having three Coventry riders is great for the club, there will be a lot of support and it should be good for morale too."
