ALL associated with the Coventry motorsport community are deeply saddened by the passing of hugely valued sponsor and supporter Colin North.
Colin was involved in a tragic accident when attending the stock car Gala event at Birmingham Wheels Raceway on Saturday.
News of his death came as a huge shock to all, just 24 hours after he had attended the British Speedway end-of-season awards night in Coventry.
Colin first became involved in events at Brandon two decades ago, his initial sponsorship deal via Teng Tools being an arrangement with stalwart Bees rider Stuart Robson.
He quickly formed a close relationship with the club and promoter Colin Pratt, and sponsorship subsequently extended to the full Coventry team and stock car events at the stadium - and over the years, the Teng Tools name became prominent throughout both sports with numerous riders and drivers benefiting.
Colin remained on-board at Brandon through a series of promotional changes in the speedway, and since the closure of the stadium three years ago he has been firmly supportive of all efforts to bring speedway and stock car racing back to the area.
In recent weeks he had assisted the Campaign Group to produce some highly impressive display boards, which we will now be honoured to use in his memory.
Colin’s passing is a tragic loss to all the sports he was involved in, but most of all to his family and friends, and we extend our deepest sympathies at this very sad time.
