FORMER Coventry captain Kelvin Tatum shares his title memories in this month’s edition of The Buzz.
Tatum was a big-money signing in the winter of 1984/85 and was involved in two British League winning campaigns at Brandon, as well as enjoying plenty of individual success.
Also this month, we mark 20 years since the last time the British Grand Prix was staged at a regular UK domestic venue, with an in-depth look back on three dramatic Brandon stagings of the event – with surprise winners and controversy!
From the good times to the more difficult seasons, we go back to September 21, 1974 in ‘Programme Vault’ with the Bees facing Oxford and battling to stay clear of the wooden spoon.
Meanwhile, the 2002 season was a much stronger campaign but the Bees’ title hopes were shattered by circumstances totally beyond their control – remind yourselves of the highs and lows of that summer in ‘The Elite Years.’
Plus a feature with former Bees mascots Dan and Joe Thompson via NSSC after they took the decision to quit college in favour of a full-time speedway career; the latest Brandon Quiz; and a further update on the campaign situation.
