THE Campaign Group have this week been informed that BOSS (Bees Official Speedway Supporters) is to be wound down.
BOSS was originally formed in 2004 as an amalgamation of the former independent Coventry and Rugby supporters’ clubs, and was brought under the banner of the speedway club itself.
Fans will no doubt remember the ‘old programmes’ kiosk in Speed Square, and BOSS were also responsible for organising official coach travel to away matches.
Following the closure of the stadium, they continued to arrange coaches to the British Grand Prix at Cardiff on an annual basis.
Having taken the decision to wind down activities, at least for the time being, we took a call from Bob Cooke to inform us that BOSS have made an extremely generous donation of £500 to the Campaign Group out of the funds remaining.
We would like to thank BOSS most sincerely, and we can assure them that this money will be put to very good use. It comes at an extremely good time, for reasons which will hopefully become clear in the near future.
Also our thanks to everyone who has bought T-shirts via Chris Simpson in recent weeks, and once again the proceeds are very much appreciated.
